USAA, a leading financial services company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant General Counsel for their P&C Insurance division. In this role, you will provide legal counsel and advice to business unit leadership, while also proactively collaborating with internal partners and managing complex legal assignments.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a Bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctor degree from accredited schools, as well as at least 6 years of relevant experience with 4 years as a practicing attorney. They must also be licensed and in good standing to practice law in one state or a territory of the USA.

Responsibilities for this role include providing legal counsel to support business objectives, effectively communicating with stakeholders and leadership, and proactively monitoring and analyzing changes in laws and regulations. This position also requires the ability to work optimally with outside counsel or contract professionals.

USAA is looking for candidates with P&C Insurance contract experience, claims, and/or coverage experience, as well as specific expertise in California, Texas, Florida, and/or Washington State claims. Additionally, US military experience with skills related to certain Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) is a plus.

USAA offers competitive compensation, with a salary range of $120,550 to $230,400, based on experience and market data. Employees may also be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance. USAA also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k), pension, life insurance, parental benefits, adoption assistance, and paid time off programs.
