The Core Tax Services Senior Manager at BDO is responsible for providing tax and consulting services to business clients with pass through entities and their owners. This role involves managing client engagements, supervising team members, and working closely with clients and internal managers and partners. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics, with a Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred. They should also have at least 8 years of relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience. A CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) is required, with other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role preferred. The Senior Tax Manager must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills. They should also be able to effectively delegate work, manage a team of tax professionals, and maintain strong client relationships.

The Senior Tax Manager will be responsible for tax planning, preparation, and research for pass through entities and their owners' individual returns, as well as estates, trusts, and charitable entities. They will also be in charge of ensuring clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens. Additionally, the Senior Tax Manager will conduct top-level reviews of tax returns and resolve any issues with clients, as well as provide advice and conduct research when needed.

In this role, the Senior Tax Manager will also be responsible for strategy development, introducing and developing new ideas to improve clients' positions, and identifying and leveraging lessons learned from previous projects. They will also have supervisory responsibilities, including building a team of professionals, training and working together to serve high net worth clients, and providing performance feedback to associates and senior associates.

The salary for this position will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and location. The range for California is $146,000 - $200,000, and the range for Washington is $150,000 - $190,000.
