Job Description Director, Privacy & Data Protection

BDO is seeking a Director to join our thriving Privacy & Data Protection (PDP) Practice. As a data protection and privacy subject matter expert and engagement leader, you will have the opportunity to work with both domestic and international clients and professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver global data protection and privacy strategies
Build cross-culture functionality for clients to operationalize global privacy programs
Manage BDO USA team members and collaborate with BDO Member Firms and offshore team members
Provide detailed information on domestic and global privacy laws to clients
Establish new relationships to drive new opportunities for BDO
Comply with BDO's Quality Risk Management, Data Protection, and other Frameworks
Manage and maintain relationships with clients and introduce other BDO professionals
Ensure timely and quality responses to client inquiries and requests
Build relationships with other BDO professionals and participate in industry events
Update customer relationship management for appropriate pipeline reporting
Review executive reports and provide feedback to team members
Develop proposals and respond to RFP/RFI's
Utilize knowledge of client needs to develop project and resource plans
Participate in business unit, legal, IT, privacy, and governance meetings
Proofread and edit executive reports
Manage client and BDO Partner expectations at all levels
Mentor team members to ensure consistent quality work product and application of BDO standards
Manage multiple large and complex engagements and clients
Manage client expectations and support in-person presentations to senior executives
Support the Data Protection Officer for clients
Develop and manage project budgets
Act as a leader and maintain a professional, positive attitude
Manage a team of professionals
Other duties as required

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Train Sr. Managers, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates on relevant software and processes
Evaluate performance and assist in professional development for Sr. Managers, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates
Deliver periodic performance feedback and complete evaluations
Act as mentor to Sr. Managers, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required, Master's, Juris Doctorate, or MBA preferred
10+ years of consulting experience required
3+ years of data protection or privacy experience required
Experience working with Fortune 500 clients preferred
5+ years of experience managing large, complex privacy projects required
One or more privacy certifications required
OneTrust, TrustArc, or other privacy enabled technology solutions preferred

Salary Information:

Individual salaries offered based on qualifications, experience, skills, and geography
California Range: $200,000 - $225,000
Colorado Range: $200,000 - $225,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $200,000 - $225,000
Washington Range: $200,000 - $225,000
