BDO USA, LLP is currently seeking a Core Tax Associate to join our team for the summer of 2024 in the Greater Washington DC area. As a Core Tax Services Associate, you will utilize your educational background, communication skills, and organizational abilities to assist with tax return preparation and research. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the tax field and work with a reputable company like BDO.

Job Duties:
- Ensure client compliance with all applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens
- Collect all necessary data for tax filings and effectively communicate any missing items
- Utilize Firm compliance software for efficient tax preparation
- Work with Senior team members to complete projects and document all significant tax positions
- Apply Firm policies and standards for FAS 109 and FIN 48 tax accruals
- Assist with developing and implementing tax strategies to maximize client benefits
- Draft clear and concise memorandums and correspondence
- Identify potential tax issues or opportunities during the compliance process
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics required
- CPA certification or progress towards it preferred
- Knowledge of home state tax structures and filing requirements preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting and take initiative
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Salary Information:
Individual salaries offered to candidates are determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skills, and location. Here is a breakdown of salary ranges for different locations:
- California: $65,000 - $82,000
- Colorado: $56,000 - $66,000
- New York City/Valhalla: $72,000 - $78,000
- Washington: $65,000 - $82,000
