Position Summary:

The Tax Senior Manager, Investment Management - Private Wealth will be responsible for leading and strategizing tax services for high-net worth clients in the West Region. They will have extensive knowledge and experience in various areas of taxation and will provide compliance and consulting services to individual clients and their trusts, estates, family offices, investment vehicles, charitable pursuits, and closely-held business concerns. The role will involve complex tax issue solutions, training and supervising tax consultants and seniors, client meetings, and marketplace eminence building and pursuits.

Responsibilities:

• Perform high-level reviews of tax research of individual, fiduciary, partnership, closely-held corporations, estate, and gift work papers and tax returns
• Prepare and lead client meetings on compliance and consulting projects related to tax planning opportunities and the tax implications of transactions to the client
• Train, mentor, and supervise new and experienced Tax Consultants and Tax Seniors
• Begin taking on lead client-contact roles, and billing and profitability analysis, on engagements
• Be involved in marketplace eminence building and pursuits

They provide comprehensive, independent, and objective wealth transfer planning advice and help clients make informed, strategic decisions regarding their personal financial comfort, business and investment needs, family legacy, and charitable giving.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model
• 8+ years of public accounting experience (at least 3 years in investment management) or equivalent in law firms or industry
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or other business-related field
• One of the following accreditations obtained:
• Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
• If not CPA eligible:
• Licensed attorney
• Enrolled Agent
• Certifications:
• Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
• Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
• Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

• Advanced degree such as MST, MAcc, JD, or LLM
• Prior Big 4 experience
• Knowledge of fund accounting and general ledger accounting
• Experience reviewing partnership and/or trust documents
• Experience managing projects including scheduling, budgeting, client correspondence, and billing
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Excellent research and writing skills

Salary and Benefits:

The wage range for this role takes into account various factors, such as skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate does not include any geographic differentials. At Deloitte, compensation decisions are based on individual circumstances, and it is not typical for someone to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $146,510 to $272,090. Eligible employees may also participate in a discretionary annual incentive program.
