Job Overview: A law firm in Palo Alto, CA, seeks a Public Companies Resource Attorney to support the Public Companies practice group. The ideal candidate will be responsible for staying updated on legal and regulatory developments, assisting in the preparation of client publications, developing practice resources, maintaining work product archives, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring skills development within the practice group.

Job Details:

  • Keeping current on all legal and regulatory developments relevant to the Public Companies practice group.
  • Developing topics for and assisting in preparing client alerts and similar publications.
  • Developing practice resources to enhance know-how exchange within the Public Companies practice group and facilitate client interaction.
  • Creating, maintaining, and updating archives of work products and know-how within the Public Companies practice group.
  • Maintaining and updating forms and templates for the Public Companies practice group, ensuring compliance with legal developments and industry standards.
  • Providing information to the Marketing department for responses to RFPs and business development opportunities.
  • Coordinating with Professional Development to enhance skills development within the Public Companies practice group.
  • Collaborating with Information Services to assess and develop technologies for practice group efficiency and service delivery.

Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed attorney with significant experience in the Public Company practice area.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience representing Public Companies in current and periodic reporting as well as Corporate Governance.
  • Mastery of the substantive area of practice undertaken by the Public Company practice group.
  • Knowledge of industries commonly advised by the firm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and drafting skills.
  • Confident and engaging presenter.
  • Strong intellectual ability, interpersonal skills, and technical skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Team player with collaborative skills.
  • Organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar.
  • Any additional certifications relevant to Public Company law would be advantageous.
