The Managing Attorney - Child Support Enforcement position is a full-time, regular position with a reputable legal firm. The firm has multiple locations in Mississippi, including Gulfport, Hattiesburg, and Pascagoula. This position requires a Juris Doctor degree and a license to practice law in the State of operations. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of legal experience in domestic relations law or as a prosecutor, with a preference for child support enforcement experience. Two years of management experience is also preferred, but not required.

The primary responsibility of the Managing Attorney is to represent the State in all judicial and administrative proceedings as directed by State policy. This includes providing litigation services and leadership and supervision to the Staff Attorneys. Additionally, the Managing Attorney will serve as the office liaison with court clerks, magistrates, and judges. This position requires a strong understanding of federal and state child support policies and procedures, as well as the ability to interpret and apply laws, rules, and regulations associated with the child support enforcement program.

Essential Job Requirements:

- Supervise Staff Attorneys and assigned legal support staff
- Assign cases and monitor case flow through the legal department using the Child Support Legal Case Management program
- Measure productivity and set goals for legal staff
- Advise operations supervisory staff on appropriate legal actions and provide assistance with establishment and enforcement strategies
- Ensure program policies comply with federal and state regulations
- Devise and implement strategies to increase operations and legal productivity
- Ensure proper legal representation in all child support matters related to paternity and support order establishment and enforcement
- Ensure all legal documents contain required federal and state elements
- Provide monthly legal case tracking statistical reports to the Legal Director and assist with presentations for the State as needed
- Partner with the State, Child Support Enforcement administration, court personnel, Sheriff's Department, and the local legal community to educate and improve relationships
- Evaluate performance, identify training needs, provide feedback, and coach and counsel legal team members
- Regular and timely attendance
- Other duties as assigned

Required Education:

- Juris Doctor degree and license to practice law in the State of operations
