A law firm in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a skilled Patent Agent to manage and execute patent-related tasks with precision and professionalism. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in patent prosecution, with a focus on cutting-edge technologies such as Software Development/Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.

Duties:

  • Draft, file, and prosecute patent applications on behalf of clients
  • Conduct due diligence, landscape analysis, freedom-to-operate analysis, and validity assessments
  • Support patent litigation activities including discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trials
  • Prepare responses to patent application rejections from various Patent Offices
  • Collaborate with clients on innovative technologies to secure patent protection and develop IP portfolios
  • Establish and maintain internal procedures and technology for efficient patent-related information management
  • Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistently
  • Adapt to changing work priorities and work well under pressure
  • Provide constructive feedback and question authority when necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, physics, or related field
  • 3 years of experience in patent prosecution
  • Industry experience in Software Development/Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and/or Machine Learning preferred
  • Registered with the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
