Job Overview:

The Advice and Counsel, Of Counsel will be responsible for providing strategic advice and counsel to clients on a range of employment law matters. Duties:

  • Drafting and revising policies, handbooks, and other employee communication documents to ensure clarity and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Explaining complex employment law issues in a way that is understandable to a range of audiences, including clients and non-legal stakeholders.
  • Identifying problem-solving options for clients, outlining the pros and cons of each option to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Providing guidance on federal, state, and local workplace and employment law, staying abreast of current enforcement techniques and regulatory developments.
  • Conducting trainings or workplace investigations as needed.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • 9+ years of relevant experience in employment law.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local workplace and employment law.
  • Understanding of current agency enforcement techniques is a plus.
  • Experience conducting trainings or workplace investigations preferred.

 

Skills:

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents and communications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
