A law firm is seeking a Mid-Level IP Litigation (Life Sciences) Associate Attorney for their San Diego office. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in handling intellectual property matters, particularly in patent and/or trade secret litigation within the life sciences sector.

 

Job Overview:

The Mid-Level IP Litigation (Life Sciences) Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation in intellectual property litigation cases, with a focus on matters related to the life sciences industry. This role requires strong legal acumen, exceptional research and analytical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.

 

Duties:

  • Representing clients in intellectual property litigation cases, including patent and/or trade secret disputes within the life sciences sector.
  • Conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Analyzing complex legal issues and providing strategic advice to clients.
  • Participating in all aspects of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and settlement negotiations.
  • Collaborating with partners, associates, and clients to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to a State Bar is required.
  • Strong academic credentials in law and undergraduate coursework.
  • Undergraduate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Materials Science, Genetics, or Biochemistry is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience with intellectual property matters, including patent and/or trade secret litigation.
  • Excellent leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Outstanding research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound legal and business knowledge relevant to intellectual property litigation in the life sciences industry.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to a State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Legal research and analytical skills.
  • Litigation experience, particularly in intellectual property matters.
  • Strong leadership and teamwork abilities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
