This role demands a strong background in criminal defense across various legal jurisdictions, including federal, state, and local levels. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are highly preferred.

Job Duties:

  • Report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney.
  • Manage a comprehensive caseload, ensuring timely progression and adherence to all legal standards.
  • Regularly interact with clients, advising on legal rights and case specifics.
  • Draw up legal documents pertinent to each case.
  • Attend pretrial hearings and provide post-hearing strategies and advice to clients.
  • Handle court appearances, trials, motion drafting, witness interviews, and extensive legal research.
  • Analyze potential outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
  • Provide detailed legal analysis to identify any potential benefits for clients.
  • Collect additional evidence to bolster client cases or counteract prosecution charges.
  • Prepare clients for depositions and refine overall case strategies.
  • Gather critical information from witnesses and experts to support the client's legal position.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in criminal defense.
  • Experience in handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of California.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.

Skills:

  • Strong legal analysis and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
