Job Overview: A law firm in Saint Louis, MO is seeking a skilled Patent Attorney with expertise in AI technologies to draft and prosecute patent applications. The ideal candidate will collaborate with inventors, conduct prior art searches, and maintain knowledge of AI technology and patent laws.

Job Duties:

• Draft and prosecute patent applications related to AI technologies.
• Collaborate with inventors to assess the patentability of new AI technologies.
• Conduct prior art searches and freedom-to-operate analyses.
• Stay updated with the latest AI technology advancements and patent laws.
• Liaise with clients to develop and manage patent portfolios.
• Provide legal advice on patent-related matters.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Physics, or a related technical field involving AI/ML.
• Experience with AI models, neural networks, and deep learning.
• Proficiency in AI/ML theory, including backpropagation, regularization, and optimization.
• Familiarity with preprocessing data, selecting features, training/tuning models, and deploying models to production environments.
• Domain experience in autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, wireless communications, computer vision, or related AI fields preferred.
• Registered to practice with the USPTO.
• Active member and in good standing of MO Bar or eligible to waive into the appropriate Bar.

Education and Certifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant technical field.
• Registered to practice with the USPTO.
• Active membership in MO Bar or eligibility to waive into the appropriate Bar.
