A law firm in Denver is seeking an Environmental Attorney with 5+ years of experience to provide legal counsel on a variety of environmental matters. The candidate will interact with colleagues, engage directly with clients, and advise on issues ranging from mergers and acquisitions to renewable energy projects.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on environmental matters related to mergers and acquisitions, real estate, tax credits, and financing transactions.
  • Advise on permitting issues related to stormwater, air, and water emissions.
  • Assist with risk mitigation and compliance with federal, state, and local statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle matters concerning emerging contaminants and renewable energy projects.
  • Provide guidance on matters related to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
  • Interface directly with clients and colleagues across offices and practice groups.
  • Conduct legal research and draft legal documents.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, administrative proceedings, and litigation.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in at least one . jurisdiction.
  • Minimum of 5 years of environmental law experience in the public and/or private sector.
  • Experience with federal environmental laws and standards, including CERCLA, RCRA, and NEPA.
  • Familiarity with state and local environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Transactional experience preferred.
  • Experience with pollution legal liability insurance and prior defense sites preferred.
  • Portable business preferred.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Bar in at least one . jurisdiction.

 

Skills:

  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations.
