The candidate will work alongside seasoned attorneys, handling professional liability, general liability, and commercial coverage cases. They will be involved in all stages of cases, from pre-suit claim investigation through trial and appeal. Duties:

  • Analyze and summarize legal documents relevant to cases.
  • Conduct thorough research on legal issues, individuals, businesses, and worksites.
  • Evaluate cases and strategically develop defense strategies.
  • Conduct client meetings and recommend legal strategies.
  • Investigate facts, plan, prepare, and conduct depositions.
  • Prepare and argue motions in court.
  • Conduct hearings and mediations.
  • Prepare witnesses and corporate representatives for testimony.
  • Brief at trial and appellate courts.
  • Write defense mediation summaries.

 

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in defense litigation.
  • Active license in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.
  • Solid experience in insurance defense, with professional liability and/or coverage litigation experience preferred.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license and in good standing with the State Bar of Georgia.

 

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to evaluate cases and develop effective defense strategies.
  • Proficiency in conducting depositions, hearings, and mediations.
  • Strong advocacy skills for motion practice and trial.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
