Summary:

BDO is seeking a Director to join their thriving Privacy & Data Protection Practice as a subject matter expert and engagement leader. This role will involve working with both domestic and international clients, managing project teams, and ensuring timely and quality work product delivery. The Director will also be responsible for developing new relationships to drive opportunities for the firm and complying with BDO's Quality Risk Management, Data Protection, and other Frameworks.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and deliver global data protection and privacy strategies to client C-suite/board
- Build cross-culture functionality for clients to operationalize global privacy programs
- Manage BDO USA team members and collaborate with BDO Member Firms and offshore team members
- Provide detailed information to clients on domestic and global privacy laws
- Establish new relationships to drive opportunities for BDO
- Comply with BDO's Quality Risk Management, Data Protection, and other Frameworks
- Manage and maintain relationships with client professionals and introduce other BDO professionals to expand on existing relationships
- Ensure timely and thoughtful responses to client inquiries
- Build relationships with other BDO professionals and participate in BDO and industry events
- Update customer relationship management to ensure appropriate pipeline reporting
- Review client executive reports and provide feedback to team members
- Develop proposals, respond to RFP/RFI's, and manage Master Service Agreements and engagement letters
- Utilize knowledge of client needs to develop project and resource plans and provide regular updates to clients
- Participate in and conduct business unit, legal, IT, privacy, and governance interviews and meetings
- Proofread and edit executive reports
- Manage BDO client and BDO Partner expectations at all levels
- Mentor team members to ensure consistent quality of work product and adherence to BDO standards
- Manage multiple large, complex and potentially long-term engagements and clients
- Manage client expectations at all levels and support in-person presentations to senior level executives
- Support the Data Protection Officer for clients
- Develop and manage project budgets, review invoices, and ensure timely delivery
- Act as a leader and maintain a professional, positive attitude towards clients and firm personnel
- Manage a team of professionals on a project or regional basis
- Supervise the workload of Sr. Managers, Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates on assigned engagements and review work product

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree, required
- Master's, Juris Doctorate, or MBA, preferred
- Ten or more years of consulting experience, required
- Three or more years of data protection or privacy experience, required
- Experience working with Fortune 500 clients, preferred
- Five or more years of experience managing large, complex privacy projects, required
- One or more privacy certifications, required
- OneTrust, TrustArc, or other privacy enabled technology solutions, preferred
- Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills, required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio, required, and Office 365, OneDrive, and SharePoint, preferred
- Knowledge of database systems, software development lifecycle, and technology company operations, preferred
- Multilingual capabilities, preferred

Salary Information:

- California Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- Colorado Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $200,000 - $225,000
- Washington Range: $200,000 - $225,000
