Responsibilities: - Manage and resolve a diverse range of tax controversy issues for clients. - Represent multiple clients in dealings with federal, state, and local authorities. - Negotiate successful resolutions for tax controversy matters. - Conduct research and communicate information to involved parties. - Strategize with firm leadership on tax planning for client recommendations. - Identify opportunities for growth with clients. - Assist with other tax department projects such as complex tax research. - Prepare and respond to IRS requests for information. - Consult and coordinate with outside advisors on tax research and audit issues. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, advanced degree in Tax or Accounting preferred. - CPA license, JD or LLM required. - Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience with tax compliance and controversy. - Broad tax experience with strong federal emphasis. - Entrepreneurial mindset, strong time and project management skills. - Interest in research, industry trends, and business development. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong analytical skills and ability to research and apply tax law. - Strong presentation and organizational skills. - Willingness to travel. - Ability to manage multiple engagements and take initiative for personal growth. - Creative problem-solving skills and ability to evaluate risk.
