A law firm is seeking a Private Companies Resource Attorney for their Los Angeles, CA, location. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Job Overview: The Private Companies Resource Attorney will be tasked with enhancing legal resources, facilitating knowledge management, and staying abreast of legal developments pertinent to Private Companies, Life Sciences Regulatory, and Digital Health practices. This role involves collaborating with legal teams, developing educational content, and supporting various practice innovation initiatives.

Duties:

  • Prepare, improve, annotate, and automate template documents.
  • Curate and organize forms, precedents, and other know-how.
  • Develop training sessions and educational content in collaboration with the legal education team.
  • Coordinate with lawyers and other personnel to ensure the review, updating, and contribution of practice resources and external publications.
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments, prepare summaries and alerts, and ensure compliance within practice resources.
  • Develop content for firm publications, teach-ins, and external-facing resources.
  • Assist attorneys with day-to-day requests for precedents, templates, and resources.
  • Contribute to resource, knowledge management, and practice innovation and technology projects.
  • Perform any other duties assigned or required.

Requirements:

  • Must be a licensed attorney.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a US corporate/transactional practice.
  • Well-developed skills in working with larger, later-stage private companies and handling various transactional matters.
  • Background or interest in life sciences and/or digital health preferred.
  • Strong drafting skills are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects and coordinate with stakeholders.
  • Associate experience in running closings and coordinating diligence/disclosures preferred.
  • Detailed drafting and analysis skills necessary for template documents.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
