Job Summary:
TikTok is looking for a Senior Patent Counsel with experience in patent prosecution to join our growing team. This role will involve working closely with internal stakeholders, managing patent assets, and providing strategic advice on patent issues critical to protecting TikTok's products and innovations. The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, self-motivated, and have a strong background in patent law.

Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with . tech and business teams to evaluate patentable ideas and provide patent legal training and advice.
- Develop and implement long-term patent portfolio strategies and filing plans.
- Review patent work by outside counsel and drive . prosecution strategy.
- Conduct patent landscaping and analysis projects to mitigate risks and prepare for defense.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate patent-related legal matters and provide pragmatic, business-focused solutions.
- Work with in-house patent functions in other jurisdictions to establish global best practices in patent prosecution and administration.

Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in patent prosecution and management, with a background at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- USPTO registration and Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Strong drafting and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects.
- Strategic thinker with a creative, risk-based approach to problem-solving.
- Experience working collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work across multiple time zones.
- Technical background in the Internet, AI, cloud computing, or data center industry preferred.
