Position Summary

Deloitte is seeking a strategic and creative federal tax professional with experience in serving real estate owners and operators for the role of Tax Senior Manager in their Real Estate Services Tax practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Subchapter K, partnership allocation methodologies, and Real Estate Investment Trust qualification rules. This role offers the opportunity to develop and pursue creative strategies while using the latest tax technologies in the real estate industry to serve clients.

What You’ll Do

As a Tax Senior Manager within the Investment Management – Real Estate Tax group, you will provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the Real Estate industry sector. Your responsibilities will include:

- Assisting clients with life events for partnerships, such as formations, mergers, and initial public offerings
- Using proprietary technologies to streamline tax compliance processes
- Maintaining and developing strong client relationships
- Advising clients on various tax issues, including REIT qualification and impact of Tax Reform
- Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects
- Mentoring and developing junior staff

Qualifications

Required:

- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires in-person collaboration 2-3 days per week
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on the work and clients served
- 8+ years of total corporate or international tax experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- One of the following accreditations obtained:

- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent

- Certifications:

- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP)

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience
- Experience with US clients and a basic understanding of US tax
- Solid understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills
- Demonstrated effective communication and research skills
- Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple priorities
- Management experience

Compensation

The wage range for this role is $119,490 to $272,090 per year, taking into account various factors such as skill sets, experience, and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on individual circumstances, and it is not typical for individuals to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
