A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a Partner-level Energy and Regulatory Attorney with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the field. The ideal candidate will have experience in the electric utility industry and regulatory matters, with a preference for candidates with renewable energy experience and a portable book of business.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in the energy and regulatory sectors.
  • Advise clients on compliance with regulatory requirements and navigate complex regulatory landscapes.
  • Represent clients in regulatory proceedings before state and federal agencies.
  • Draft and negotiate agreements related to energy transactions and regulatory matters.
  • Handle litigation and appeals related to energy and regulatory issues.
  • Collaborate with clients, industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to advocate for favorable outcomes.
  • Manage relationships with clients and develop new business opportunities.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 8 years of Energy and Regulatory experience.
  • Experience working in the electric utility industry is required.
  • Preference is given to candidates with regulatory experience representing utilities, regulators, or other stakeholders.
  • Experience with renewable energy is a plus.
  • A portable book of business is preferred.
  • Admission to the Colorado Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • Admission to the Arizona, California, and/or Nevada Bar would be a plus.

 

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Colorado Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • Admission to the Arizona, California, and/or Nevada Bar (if applicable).

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Skills:
