Job Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to clients on land use matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on land use, zoning regulations, environmental laws, and other relevant areas.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, permits, and environmental impact reports.
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, zoning appeals, and other land use-related proceedings.
  • Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders to achieve desired land use objectives.
  • Stay abreast of land use law and regulations developments and advise clients accordingly.
  • Assist senior attorneys in managing caseloads and client relationships.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of solid land use experience.
  • Experience with administrative law, zoning, affordable housing, CEQA, the Subdivision Map Act, historic preservation laws, and the California Coastal Act preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional legal research and analytical skills.
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities and ability to develop creative solutions.
  • California Bar membership is in good standing.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
