Job Overview: A law firm in Los Angeles seeks a Land Use Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of solid land use experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in land use, administrative law, zoning, affordable housing, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the Subdivision Map Act, historic preservation laws, and the California Coastal Act. The candidate should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, exceptional legal research and analytical abilities, effective problem-solving capabilities, and the capacity to work independently and proactively. California Bar membership is in good standing, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion is required.

Job Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and representation to clients on land use matters.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on land use, zoning regulations, environmental laws, and other relevant areas.
• Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, permits, and environmental impact reports.
• Represent clients in administrative hearings, zoning appeals, and other land use-related proceedings.
• Collaborate with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders to achieve desired land use objectives.
• Stay abreast of land use law and regulations developments and advise clients accordingly.
• Assist senior attorneys in managing caseloads and client relationships.

Requirements:

• 3-5 years of solid land use experience.
• Experience with administrative law, zoning, affordable housing, CEQA, the Subdivision Map Act, historic preservation laws, and the California Coastal Act preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and exceptional legal research and analytical skills.
• Effective problem-solving capabilities and ability to develop creative solutions.
• California Bar membership is in good standing.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar.
