Job Overview:

The Mid-Level IP Litigation (Life Sciences) Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and support on intellectual property litigation matters, with a focus on cases related to the life sciences industry. This role involves handling a broad spectrum of cases, counseling clients, and demonstrating a commitment to excellence and professionalism.

 

Duties:

  • Conducting legal research and analysis to support intellectual property litigation cases, including patent and trade secret disputes.
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents for court proceedings.
  • Participating in all phases of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, trials, and appeals.
  • Collaborating with senior attorneys and partners to develop case strategies and tactics.
  • Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts throughout the litigation process.
  • Providing legal advice and guidance to clients on ongoing matters and potential risks.

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to a State Bar is required.
  • Strong academic credentials in law and undergraduate coursework.
  • Undergraduate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Materials Science, Genetics, or Biochemistry is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience with intellectual property matters, including patent and/or trade secret litigation.
  • Excellent leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Outstanding research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sound legal and business knowledge, particularly in the context of intellectual property litigation.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to a State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in legal work.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
