Job Title: Managing Attorney - Child Support Enforcement
Experience: Minimum of two years legal experience in domestic relations law or as a prosecutor, with preferred experience in child support enforcement
Location: Gulfport, Hattiesburg, or Pascagoula, MS

Responsibilities:

Represent the State in all judicial and administrative proceedings related to child support enforcement
Supervise and provide leadership to Staff Attorneys and legal support staff
Assign and monitor cases to ensure efficient case flow
Advise operations staff on appropriate legal actions and strategies
Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
Devise and implement strategies to increase productivity
Provide monthly legal case tracking reports and presentations as needed
Collaborate with various departments and agencies to improve relationships and educate on child support enforcement
Evaluate and provide feedback, coaching, and counseling to legal team members

Education and Experience:

Juris Doctor degree and license to practice law in the State of operations
Minimum of two years legal experience in domestic relations law or as a prosecutor, with preferred experience in child support enforcement

The Company, a full-service legal firm, is currently seeking a highly qualified Managing Attorney for Child Support Enforcement in Gulfport, Hattiesburg, or Pascagoula, MS. This role is responsible for representing the State in all judicial and administrative proceedings related to child support enforcement, as well as providing leadership and supervision to the legal team and collaborating with various departments and agencies to improve relationships and educate on child support enforcement. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and a license to practice law in the State of operations, along with a minimum of two years legal experience in domestic relations law or as a prosecutor, with preferred experience in child support enforcement.

As the Managing Attorney, you will be responsible for supervising and providing direction to Staff Attorneys and assigned legal support staff. This includes assigning cases and monitoring case flow through the legal department using the Child Support Legal Case Management program, as well as measuring productivity and setting goals for legal staff. You will also advise operations supervisory staff on appropriate legal actions and provide assistance regarding establishment and enforcement strategies. Additionally, you will ensure program policies comply with federal and state regulations and devise and implement strategies to increase operations and legal productivity.

In this role, you will also ensure proper legal representation in all child support matters related to paternity and support order establishment and enforcement. This includes ensuring all legal documents contain required federal and state elements and providing monthly legal case tracking statistical reports and presentations as needed. You will also collaborate with the State, Child Support Enforcement administration, court personnel, Sheriff's Department, and the local legal community to educate and improve relationships.

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong understanding of laws, rules, and regulations associated with the child support enforcement program. Excellent organizational, written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills are also essential, as well as the ability to execute many complex tasks simultaneously. Additionally, you should be self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and make independent decisions. Knowledge of federal and state child support policies and procedures is required, as well as the ability to provide positive interaction with customers and the public in a courteous and professional manner.
