The candidate must demonstrate high academic achievement, solid law firm, engineering, or industry experience, along with exceptional writing and communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct patent preparation and prosecution activities for medical devices and mechanical engineering-related inventions.
  • Draft and file patent applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on patent-related matters, including infringement analysis and patentability assessments.
  • Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and other legal professionals to gather necessary information for patent applications.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support patent prosecution efforts.
  • Attend meetings with clients and assist in intellectual property strategy development.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering; other engineering disciplines coupled with substantial patent experience in medical devices and/or mechanical products are acceptable.
  • 3+ years of relevant patent preparation and prosecution experience.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bachelor's degree in biomedical or mechanical engineering; other engineering disciplines are acceptable.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
