Job Description:

As a Counsel in the Legal Department of the Public Affairs Section, you will be responsible for providing legal guidance and advice to internal clients on public affairs related matters, such as legislative advocacy, philanthropy, and external communications. You will also work collaboratively with other departments and outside counsel to address legal and risk issues in the best interests of Wells Fargo. This position may require research and analysis of state and federal regulations and legislation to identify compliance requirements for the company.

Responsibilities:

- Provide guidance and advice to internal clients on legal matters
- Analyze the impact of policy, legal, and regulatory changes
- Collaborate with other departments and outside counsel on legal and risk issues
- Participate in initiatives and projects of varying complexity
- Provide guidance to less experienced counsel or paralegals
- Research and analyze proposed regulations and legislation
- Coordinate with the legal department and other departments based on an understanding of the company's lines of business and risk management framework

Qualifications:

Required:
- 2+ years of law experience or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
- Active State Bar membership

Desired:
- Experience as a practicing attorney
- Ability to research and analyze complex legal issues
- Experience with political law matters preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Effective organization and time management skills
- Ability to use online research tools and navigate internal databases
- Knowledge of legislative and regulatory processes
- Broad knowledge of Wells Fargo's businesses and services
