Job Requirements: Job Title: Indirect Tax Manager - Multistate Department: Multistate Tax Services Experience: 5+ years in state and local indirect tax (sales & use and excise tax) Salary Range: $95,900 to $203,060 per year (depending on experience and qualifications) Location: 27 locations available Recruiting Deadline: May 31st 2025 Position Summary: - Seeking a strategic and creative Indirect Tax Manager with experience in state and local indirect tax to join our team in one of the largest multistate tax practices in the United States. - Responsible for providing state and local indirect tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to a diverse client base in various industries. - Will work directly with clients, manage tax engagement team, and have support from firm leadership to ensure success in role. - Will be responsible for maintaining and developing client relationships, acting as a trusted business advisor, researching and analyzing tax issues, managing engagement workflow and billing, and providing leadership and career guidance for the team. The Team: - Deloitte's Multistate Tax Services (MTS) group is the largest State and Local Tax (SALT) practice in the United States with over 1,000 professionals nationwide. - Team includes former state tax auditors and administrators, industry personnel, tax practitioners, accounting specialists, and technology personnel with numerous years of multistate tax experience. - Services include state income and franchise tax, indirect tax, business restructuring, credits and incentives, sales and use tax outsourcing, excise tax, property tax, state strategic tax review, and state tax controversy. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. - One of the following accreditations obtained: licensed CPA, licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, or CMI (Certified Member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation). - Ability to travel up to 10% of the time. Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM. - Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm. - Excellent research, writing, presentation, and communication skills. - Strong management experience.
