Job Overview:

The Senior Attorney will be responsible for providing legal counsel and representation to clients in a variety of public agency matters. This role requires exceptional academic credentials, extensive public agency experience, and strong research, writing, organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and representation to clients in public agency matters.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support client cases.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, contracts, and other legal correspondence.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, and negotiations.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and staff to ensure effective case management.
  • Maintain client relationships and provide ongoing legal support and guidance.
  • Stay current with legal developments, statutes, regulations, and case law relevant to public agency practice.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on public agency matters.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar or ability to become admitted promptly.
  • Strong academic credentials, including a high GPA and law review or similar academic achievements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional research and analytical abilities.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience managing and mentoring junior attorneys is preferred but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
