Deloitte is seeking a Tax Senior to join its Business Tax Services Insurance practice. This position offers a unique opportunity to specialize in Financial Services and Insurance, while developing and applying tax knowledge to solve complex problems.

### Job Description

As an Insurance Tax Consultant, you will be a valuable member on tax engagements, providing tax services relevant for public and private companies. Responsibilities will include:

- Providing tax advisory services to clients in the insurance industry across business functions
- Coordinating with the client’s tax and finance departments to gather data for tax return preparation
- Assisting with strategic tax planning including researching federal tax law and drafting technical memos
- Assisting with IRS audit defense

### Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related fields
- 3+ years’ experience working with private or public corporations
- Demonstrated abilities to problem solve and lead
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Excellent research and writing skills
- One of the following accreditations obtained, in process, or willing and able to obtain:
- Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office
- Licensed Attorney
- Enrolled Agent
- Chartered Financial Advisor (CFA)
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
- Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve

Preferred:

- Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
- Experience in the life insurance, property insurance or casualties' industry
- Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience
- Previous experience with corporate tax preparation, tax compliance, or tax controversy

### Salary

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $63,420 to $144,300. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
