Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel to support business objectives and mitigate risk for USAA.
- Lead routine to moderately complex legal assignments and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders through verbal and written forms.
- Monitor and analyze changes in laws, regulations, and industry and advise organizational leadership.
- Support senior attorneys with legal questions or issues and escalate matters presenting significant risk.
- Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled according to policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited school.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice law in one state or territory of the USA, or must pass the State Bar exam within 10 months of hire date.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.

Preferred Qualifications:
- P&C insurance contract, claims, and/or coverage experience.
- Specific expertise in California, Texas, Florida, and/or Washington state claims.
- Military experience with related skills in Army, Navy, Marines, or USAF.
