A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for its Charlotte, NC location. The ideal candidate should possess 1+ years of bankruptcy and/or creditor’s rights experience, with a working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code.

 

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will primarily manage contested or litigated bankruptcy matters, draft and review all pleadings and claims, respond to objections and motions, attend hearings, and handle general bankruptcy inquiries. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload.

 

Duties:

  • Manage contested or litigated bankruptcy matters
  • Draft and review all pleadings and claims filed
  • Respond to objections and motions
  • Attend scheduled hearings
  • Respond to general firm-wide bankruptcy inquiries
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

  • JD Law degree
  • Admitted to practice law in Florida preferred
  • 1+ years of bankruptcy and/or creditor’s rights experience
  • Experience representing creditors and/or debtors in Chapter 7, 11, and 13 bankruptcy cases
  • Familiarity with CM/ECF filing system
  • Knowledge of bankruptcy rules/laws and general creditor rights laws
  • Exceptional work ethic and professionalism
  • High level of attention to detail and organization
  • Effective time management
  • Communication skills

 

Education & Certifications:

  • JD Law degree
  • License to practice law in Florida preferred
  • Admitted to practice law in Florida and Federal Districts in Florida
  • Admissions in other jurisdictions a strong plus

 

Skills:

  • Advanced computer literacy
  • Ability to learn and utilize different case management systems
  • Familiarity with Florida bankruptcy courts, local rules, and court procedures
