Job Overview: A law firm seeks a skilled Criminal Defense Attorney to provide comprehensive legal counsel and representation to clients facing criminal charges. The ideal candidate will have experience in navigating complex criminal cases at various levels of jurisdiction and possess exceptional interpersonal skills.

Job Duties:

• Advise clients on their legal rights and responsibilities in criminal matters
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs, to support clients' cases
• Attend pretrial hearings and represent clients during court proceedings
• Conduct legal research to analyze case law, statutes, and regulations relevant to clients' cases
• Interview witnesses and gather evidence to build strong defense strategies
• Prepare clients for depositions and assist in selecting and preparing expert witnesses
• Manage workload effectively to ensure timely handling of multiple cases
• Collaborate with fellow associates to strategize and develop case approaches
• Provide ongoing legal analysis to clients regarding potential case outcomes and benefits
• Accrue additional evidence to support clients' cases and challenge the prosecution's charges

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience practicing criminal defense law
• Proven track record of handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels
• Strong teamwork ethic with a willingness to collaborate and support colleagues
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred
• Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective client communication and advocacy

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
• Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility for admission upon hiring
