Job Overview: A law firm seeks a knowledgeable and experienced Renewable Energy Tax Associate Attorney to provide comprehensive tax counsel to clients involved in renewable energy transactions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in tax law focusing on renewable energy, including advising on construction requirements, prevailing wage requirements, apprenticeship requirements under code sections 45 and 48, M&A transactions, tax equity transactions, tax credit transfers, and joint ventures.

Duties:

  • Provide expert tax advice to clients engaged in renewable energy transactions.
  • Analyze and interpret tax laws, regulations, and rulings relevant to renewable energy projects.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including tax opinions, contracts, and agreements.
  • Conduct due diligence reviews for renewable energy transactions.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to structure tax-efficient transactions.
  • Assist in negotiating and drafting transactional documents related to tax aspects.
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations impacting renewable energy projects.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-8 years of experience practicing law in a reputable firm.
  • Demonstrated experience in tax credit transactions, tax credit transfers, tax equity financings, and tax opinion letters.
  • Strong understanding of construction requirements, prevailing wage requirements, and apprenticeship requirements under code sections 45 and 48.
  • Excellent academic credentials from a recognized institution.
  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.

Preferred Education and Certifications:
