A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join their dynamic Immigration Team. The candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload, interacting with clients, and collaborating with the firm's Immigration Team to provide strategic immigration solutions.

 

Duties:

  • Report to the Managing Immigration Attorney and manage own caseload.
  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at centers.
  • Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Conduct strategic immigration consultations with potential clients and determine necessary legal strategies.
  • Develop strategies and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients to determine potential case benefits.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for various immigration cases.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Utilize interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is preferred.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of Immigration Law Experience.
  • Strong understanding of immigration law and procedures.
  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Experience with Case Management Software is advantageous.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in immigration law and procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience with immigration applications and court proceedings.
