A law firm in Oakland, CA is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with a minimum of 3 years of experience specializing in personal injury litigation (plaintiff or defense). The successful candidate will competently manage a caseload from inception to conclusion, demonstrating proficiency in various legal tasks and effective communication with clients, experts, witnesses, and other stakeholders.

Duties:

• Assist competently with the caseload.
• Manage cases independently from inception to conclusion with minimal oversight.
• Handle court appearances and depositions.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular status reports.
• Draft settlement demands, discovery responses, motions, pleadings, subpoenas, memoranda, and other legal documents.
• Identify appropriate experts, facilitate expert retention, and communicate effectively with experts, including preparation for depositions and trial.
• Communicate with witnesses and medical providers, preparing them for deposition and trial.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an attorney specializing in personal injury litigation (plaintiff or defense).
• Licensed to practice law in California.
• Possess excellent writing skills, organizational abilities, multitasking capabilities, high attention to detail, and meet all deadlines.

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Active California State Bar membership.
