Job Title: Tax Manager - Real Estate Tax (Central Region Office Locations)
Experience: 5+ years total corporate or international tax experience
Salary Range: $84,980 to $169,650 (depending on factors such as skill sets, experience, and location)

Position Summary:

- Seeking a strategic and creative federal tax professional with experience in serving real estate owners and operators for the role of Tax Manager in Deloitte's Real Estate Services Tax practice.
- Opportunity to develop and pursue creative strategies while utilizing the latest tax technologies in the real estate industry to serve clients.
- Recruiting for this role ends on June 1, 2024.

What You'll Do:

- Provide federal tax consulting and compliance services to clients in the Real Estate industry sector.
- Work directly with clients, manage tax engagement team, and have access to a group of specialists when needed.
- Use state-of-the-art technology to assist clients in streamlining their tax compliance processes.
- Maintain and develop strong client relationships.
- Advise clients on various tax issues, including REIT Qualification, Tax Reform impact, business restructuring, and tax controversy.
- Oversee complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects.
- Manage engagement workflow, team resources, and billing.
- Mentor and develop junior staff.

- Deloitte works with clients in the Real Estate industry to address critical issues brought on by regulatory changes, competition, globalization, and technology advancements.
- Clients include investment managers, private equity firms, REITs, and other real estate owners and operators.
- Business tax services range from tax planning to compliance, controversy and risk management, and specialized services.
- Join a team of professionals dedicated to optimizing tax functions and taking strategy to the next level.

Qualifications:

Required:

- Ability to work in a hybrid model, co-locating in person 2-3 days per week.
- 5+ years total corporate or international tax experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Accreditation such as CPA, Attorney, Enrolled Agent, CFA, or CFP.
- Ability to travel up to 25% based on work and client needs.

Preferred:

- Advanced degree in Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM.
- Previous experience at a Big 4 or large CPA firm.
- Experience with US clients and basic understanding of US tax.
- Effective communication and research skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Solid understanding of real estate tax technical and transaction skills.
- Demonstrated management experience.
