Overview

The Legal Risk Manager, Corporate Auto Claims position at Amazon Logistics, Inc. is a highly sought-after role within the company's Global Risk Management team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the litigation process and a background in handling both litigated and non-litigated claims. This role offers the opportunity to work with a rapidly growing and evolving corporate auto program, leading strategy on complex auto claims and developing programs and tools to contain costs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead strategy on complex auto claims, handling pre-litigation disputes and resolving litigated claims with cross-functional partners
• Develop programs and tools to contain costs and maintain successful relationships with third-party administrators (TPAs)
• Provide oversight of complex, high value claims
• Develop strategy and action plans for claims in collaboration with internal and external counsel, TPAs, and insurance companies
• Attend mediations with internal and external legal partners, insurance companies, and TPAs
• Address ongoing questions and issues from business partners through claims resolution
• Partner with internal teams to innovate processes and strategies for handling new issues in a business-forward manner while addressing risk

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active membership in at least one state bar
• 5+ years of experience in transportation claims
• Strong understanding of the litigation process
• Experience with commercial auto insurance policies and large transportation fleets
• Experience handling both litigated and non-litigated claims in a time-efficient and cost-effective manner

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing and implementing standards, policies, and programs
• Strong communication skills

Location and Compensation

This position is open to candidates who can work out of one of the following locations: Arlington, VA, New York, NY, or Seattle, WA. The base pay for this position ranges from $96,900/year in the lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in the highest geographic market. Pay is based on factors such as market location and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
