A law firm in Albuquerque, NM, is seeking an Associate Attorney to advise and protect client interests in pre-litigation and litigation cases, with a focus on residential real estate, mortgage, foreclosure, and general collection cases. The successful candidate will manage cases from start to finish, provide legal analysis, draft pleadings and motions, and attend court hearings. This role requires a Bachelor's Degree, a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, at least 1 year of legal experience, and admission to practice law in the state of New Mexico.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel in pre-litigation and litigation cases, specializing in residential real estate, mortgage, foreclosure, and general collection matters.
  • Manage cases from initiation to resolution.
  • Prepare case analyses and advise clients on risks, potential exposure, and strategies.
  • Draft and argue pleadings and motions.
  • Oversee all aspects of the discovery process.
  • Collaborate with supervising partners and clients to develop case strategies.
  • Attend court hearings, including telephonic, video, and in-person appearances.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
  • 1 year of experience in the practice of law, with a preference for litigation, real estate, or mortgage law experience.
  • Admission to practice law in the state of New Mexico.
  • Proficiency in software tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet applications.
