A law firm in Irvine is seeking a Junior General Liability Defense Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate should be admitted to the State Bar of California and possess 0-3 years of civil litigation defense experience or demonstrate a strong interest in working on general liability matters. Some prior experience with written discovery, attending depositions, preparing motions, or assisting with trial preparation is a plus.

 

Duties:

  • Assist in the defense of general liability matters, including personal injury, premises liability, auto/trucking accidents, habitability, and construction defect cases
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Assist with written discovery, including drafting interrogatories, requests for production, and requests for admissions
  • Attend depositions and prepare summaries
  • Assist with motion practice, including drafting motions and memoranda
  • Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing witnesses
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to the State Bar of California
  • 0-3 years of civil litigation defense experience or a strong interest in general liability matters
  • Prior experience with written discovery, depositions, motions, or trial preparation is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admitted to the State Bar of California
