Utilize educational background and organizational skills to consult with clients on cross-border tax matters - Gain exposure to work plans for assigned clients and monitor daily tax law and client factual developments - Coordinate with BDO non-US colleagues in approximately 160 countries on international tax rules and foreign tax law - Develop an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues and opportunities regarding international taxation - Identify when research is necessary and analyze facts and authorities to prepare written tax advice on international tax and cross-border transactions - Assist in obtaining required client information for international tax compliance forms and US international informational reporting - Basic understanding of tax compliance topics such as Subpart F income, Earnings and Profits adjustments, and foreign tax credits - Coordinate with other team members to represent clients before the IRS on contested issues - Develop a basic understanding of ASC 740-10 as it applies to international tax issues - Follow Firm policies, standards, and the BDO Tax Quality Manual - Salary range: $60,000 - $110,000 Tax Consulting: - Prepare Written Tax Advice (WTA) on international tax and cross-border transactions Tax Compliance: - Assist in obtaining required client information for international tax compliance forms and US international informational reporting - Use Firm tax compliance software to maximize efficiency in the tax preparation process - Understand international tax compliance topics such as Subpart F income, Earnings and Profits adjustments, and foreign tax credits - Analyze cross-border transactions for tax return impacts, including Section 351 and Section 304 transactions, liquidations under Sections 331 and 332, and reorganizations under Section 368 Tax Controversy: - Assist in preparing to represent clients before the IRS on contested issues ASC 740-10: - Develop a basic understanding of ASC 740-10 as it applies to international tax issues - Apply knowledge to client situations as applicable Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, preferred - Juris Doctorate degree, LLM, and/or MST/MBT, preferred - One or more years of prior experience in professional services or equivalent experience gained through an advanced degree program, required -
