A law firm seeks an accomplished eDiscovery Counsel to manage the firm’s most substantial discovery and fact development matters. The ideal candidate will provide strategic guidance, lead major projects, and possess expert-level proficiency in eDiscovery tools and processes. This role involves educating and mentoring attorneys, advising on technical specifications, and ensuring compliance with legal standards.

 

Duties:

  • Manage the firm’s largest, highest profile, and most complex discovery and fact development matters.
  • Provide strategic design, consultation, and management for large-scale discovery projects, emphasizing electronically stored information issues.
  • Utilize expert-level technological acumen and proficiency in industry tools to manage complex eDiscovery projects.
  • Educate and mentor attorneys on eDiscovery, offering consulting on matters handled by others and clients’ systems and processes.
  • Led and manage major discovery projects, advising on progress and implementing case organization strategies.
  • Create, track, and report on cost estimates and case budgets.
  • Offer guidance on discovery vendors, software tools, and budgeting.
  • Designed and implemented document collection, review, production, and privilege logging plans.
  • Develop legal hold/preservation strategy, meet-and-confer process, and protective orders.
  • Lead processes for privileged documents, deposition, and witness preparation support.
  • Provide consulting on technical specs/workflow for eDiscovery, search term construction, and testing.
  • Identify and guide non-standard data sources, including mobile devices.
  • Offer advice on technical specifications for data collection, processing, and production.
  • Planned, evaluated, and guided the use of AI/TAR and other technological tools on large data sets.
  • Lead compliance support teams.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • . degree from a major, accredited law school.
  • Admitted to the CA Bar, active, and in good standing.
  • Expert knowledge of relevant case law and legal development related to discovery topics.
  • Extensive familiarity with the concepts and challenges of data organization, law practice software applications, and innovative eDiscovery practices.

 

Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Relativity, Case Dynamics, Opus2, Case Notebook, Brainspace, NexLP.
