A law firm in San Jose is seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney with extensive experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school, be admitted to practice law in California, and have a minimum of 10 years of Litigation experience. Responsibilities include high-level legal analysis, court filings, depositions, mediations, discovery, trials, potential client conferences, and participation in marketing and business development initiatives.

 

Duties:

  • Perform high-level legal analysis in various litigation matters.
  • Handle court filings, including pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct depositions of witnesses and parties involved in litigation.
  • Represent clients in mediations and negotiate settlements.
  • Manage discovery processes, including requests and responses.
  • Conduct trials, including serving as first chair and arbitration.
  • Potentially conduct client conferences to discuss case strategies and updates.
  • Supervise and train litigation associates and paralegals.
  • Work and collaborate with other attorneys within the firm on a cross-referral basis.
  • Actively participate in the firm’s marketing and business development initiatives, including client updates and blogs.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in California and in good standing with the State Bar of California.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Litigation experience; 15+ years preferred.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Admission to practice law in California and in good standing with the State Bar of California.

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal analysis and research abilities.
