Corporate Counsel, Product Counseling, Kuiper (Satellites/Communications) – Redmond, WA

Overview:

Amazon is seeking an experienced Corporate Counsel to join their legal team supporting Project Kuiper. This initiative aims to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites to provide broadband connectivity to communities around the world. As a Corporate Counsel, you will be responsible for advising the Kuiper team on product counseling matters globally. This position is based in Redmond, WA and may require some travel, both domestic and international.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide legal advice and guidance to the Kuiper team on product counseling matters
- Develop processes to address risk while allowing for business flexibility and freedom
- Handle legal issues in a business-centric manner
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- Collaborate with other legal team members and business stakeholders
- Stay updated on industry and regulatory developments related to satellite and communications technology

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor degree and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, with experience in transactional and technology licensing preferred
- Experience in a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work is a plus

Compensation:

- Base pay ranges from $123,100/year to $229,000/year based on geographic market and job-related factors
- Additional forms of compensation, including equity and sign-on payments, may be provided as part of a total compensation package
