A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced General Municipal Law Attorney with 3+ years of experience. The ideal candidate will have expertise in General Municipal Law, Code Enforcement, Water Law, and Sanitation District Law. The firm offers a hybrid work arrangement option and an annual telecommute budget to support remote work. Attorneys are required to meet a billable hour requirement of 1850 and are eligible for competitive health insurance benefits, 401(k) with a partial match, and annual discretionary and billable hour bonuses.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and representation to municipal clients on a wide range of issues, including general governance, land use, and public works
  • Advise on matters related to code enforcement, zoning regulations, and land use planning
  • Handle negotiations, drafting, and review of contracts, ordinances, and resolutions
  • Represent clients in administrative hearings, trials, and appellate proceedings
  • Research and analyze complex legal issues and provide strategic advice and recommendations
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing legal documents, including agreements, pleadings, and motions
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop effective legal strategies and solutions

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing law, preferably in General Municipal Law, Code Enforcement, Water Law, or related fields
  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California or ability to waive into California Bar
  • Strong understanding of municipal law principles, regulations, and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to client service and professionalism

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California
