A law firm in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Environmental Attorney to join their team. The candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across offices and practice groups, providing counsel to clients on a wide range of environmental matters. This role requires strong writing and communication skills, as well as expertise in federal, state, and local environmental regulations.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on various environmental matters, including mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, tax credits, and financing transactions.
  • Advise clients on permitting issues related to stormwater, air, and water emissions.
  • Assist with risk mitigation strategies and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Handle matters related to emerging contaminants and renewable energy projects.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and represent clients in administrative proceedings and litigation.
  • Interface with colleagues across offices and practice groups, as well as engage directly with clients.

 

Requirements:

  • Law degree (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in at least one . jurisdiction.
  • 5+ years of environmental law experience in the public and/or private sector.
  • Experience with federal environmental laws and standards, including CERCLA, NEPA, RCRA, TSCA, FIFRA, CWA, and CAA.
  • Transactional experience, particularly in mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and financing transactions.
  • Familiarity with state and local environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with pollution legal liability insurance and prior defense sites preferred.
  • Portable business preferred.

 

Education:

Law degree (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Bar admission in at least one . jurisdiction.

 

Skills:
