Salary Information:
- Minimum Salary: USD $95,.
- Maximum Salary: USD $162,.
- Typical Starting Salary: $113,000 - $120,000
- Flexible Time Off Annual Accrual: 20 days

Overview:

- Opportunity for a Workers' Compensation Attorney admitted and residing in Washington State and/or Oregon
- Primarily remote role with required appearances
- Handling a caseload of workers’ compensation matters
- Conducting depositions and representing Liberty Mutual and its policyholders at WC hearings
- Interacting with Liberty Mutual’s Workers’ Compensation claims organization
- Joining a diverse team that values work/life balance
- Eligible for performance bonuses, 20 days of flexible time off each year, personal holidays, a pension plan, and a 401(k) plan with matching contributions
- Representing Liberty Mutual and policyholders

Responsibilities:

- Develop and revise legal strategy using Litigation Protocols
- Appear before the Workers Compensation Board, conduct depositions, and draft/filing legal documents
- Research applicable laws and provide legal opinions and advice
- Maintain good relations and communication with Claims Representatives and Insured Clients
- Stay current with developments in the law and understand relevant issues and defenses
- Conduct training sessions and provide guidance to junior attorneys
- Utilize technology to improve quality and reduce costs
- Act as a team or group leader for an assigned group handling workers compensation cases
- Interface with Home Office Legal department

Qualifications:

- Membership in the Washington and/or Oregon State Bars
- Appropriate special licenses to practice before boards or federal courts preferred
- Minimum of five years' experience as an attorney, with Workers’ Compensation experience strongly preferred
- Talent for building strong working relationships
- Detail-oriented and analytical thinking skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and stay organized
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Familiarity with latest developments in the practice of law and related fields
- Knowledge of insurance law is a plus
- Proficiency with technologies that facilitate remote work
