Mission of DOI: To be the Nation's premier conservation agency, responsible for the legal work of the . Department of the Interior (DOI).

Responsibilities:

- Conduct legal research on a variety of environmental and administrative law issues, as well as issues involving Indian law.
- Assist in complex civil litigation before administrative tribunals or federal courts.
- Draft legal memoranda, briefs, and motions.
- Assist with discovery in active federal cases.
- Participate in conference calls and strategy sessions with other agency counsel and officials.
