A law firm in Valdosta, GA, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to manage all phases of pre-litigation and litigation processes. The ideal candidate will maintain client communication, draft and review legal documents, conduct discovery, handle hearings and depositions, negotiate settlements, and perform administrative duties. Strong academic credentials, time management skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management software, and excellent communication abilities are essential. The candidate must be licensed by the Georgia Bar or anticipate admission post-February 2024 Bar exam, with proficiency in Spanish considered a plus.

 

Duties:

  • Manage all phases of pre-litigation and litigation processes
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, updating them on case progress
  • Advise clients on legal matters related to their cases
  • Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Conduct and prepare for discovery processes
  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and mediations
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients
  • Track time and expenses related to cases
  • Perform other administrative tasks related to legal practice

 

Requirements:

  • Stellar academic credentials
  • Strong time management skills
  • Competence in Microsoft Office applications and case management software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment and meet deadlines
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Licensed member of the Georgia Bar, or anticipate admission following February 2024 Bar exam
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Licensed member of the Georgia Bar, or anticipate admission following February 2024 Bar exam
