Duties:

  • Draft and oppose motions ranging from simple ex parte applications to complex motions for summary judgment.
  • Collaborate with trial attorneys on motions in limine.
  • Argue motions and oppositions before judges.
  • Work closely with trial attorneys to develop a case strategy.
  • Conduct legal research on emerging issues of law and areas lacking clear authority.
  • Meet and confer with defense counsel.
  • Discuss case strategy with experts.

Requirements:

  • Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • Superior writing skills.
  • Ability to quickly identify relevant legal authority.
  • Proficiency with the Code of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code.
  • Superior analytical and legal research skills.
  • Ability to extract key facts from discovery, deposition transcripts, and other records and apply them to relevant case law.
  • Proven track record of successfully supporting and opposing dispositive motions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the California State Bar.
