A law firm in Denver is seeking a highly experienced Senior Wealth Planning Attorney to serve as a trusted business advisor to clients. The candidate will guide clients through various legal matters over their life cycle, with a focus on estate planning, trust and estate administration, gift and estate tax returns, marital property agreements, and transfer tax planning. The role involves building strong client relationships by providing advice on adapting to unforeseen family and business issues, economic conditions, and evolving tax laws.

 

Duties:

  • Serve as a business advisor, providing legal guidance to clients throughout their life cycle.
  • Create and implement comprehensive estate plans tailored to individual client needs.
  • Administer trusts and estates, including preparation and/or review of gift tax returns and estate tax returns.
  • Draft and review marital property agreements and engage in transfer tax planning.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through direct interaction and effective communication.
  • Advise clients on adapting to unforeseen family and business issues, economic conditions, and changing tax laws.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • 10 years of experience in creating and implementing estate plans, trust and estate administration, marital property agreements, and transfer tax planning.
  • Colorado license preferred or willingness to become licensed in Colorado.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of clients, attorneys, and staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Skills:

  • Expertise in creating and implementing estate plans.
  • Proficient in the administration of trusts and estates.
  • Experience with gift and estate tax returns.
  • Drafting and reviewing marital property agreements.
  • Knowledge of transfer tax planning, including the use of lifetime irrevocable trusts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
