A law firm in New Orleans is seeking a Defense Litigation Associate Attorney to provide high-quality and cost-effective legal representation to clients. The candidate will be responsible for case intake, budgeting, management, research, advice, reporting, negotiation, litigation, and appeal.

 

Duties:

  • Provide high-quality legal representation to clients in defense litigation matters
  • Handle case intake, including assessment of legal issues and client needs
  • Develop and manage case budgets effectively
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies
  • Provide timely and accurate legal advice to clients
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, pleadings, and motions
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings
  • Prepare for and participate in litigation and appeals
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing parties
  • Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to practice law in the various State and Federal Courts of the state(s) of employment
  • Certificate(s) of Good Standing from appropriate governing bodies

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree
  • Admission to practice law in the relevant State and Federal Courts
  • Certificate(s) of Good Standing

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Litigation experience, including trial and appellate work
  • Negotiation and dispute resolution skills
